First Flight from Kazakhstan Lands at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport

A Fly Arstan airline plane, taking off from Astana, Kazakhstan, landed at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport with 175 passengers. This marks the first direct flight from Kazakhstan in the airport’s history. A welcoming ceremony was held at the airport, attended by Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik. Flights from Kazakhstan will continue twice a week until August 30th.

Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport (GZP) hosted a very important day for regional tourism. The Fly Arstan airline flight from Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, landed at Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport with 175 passengers. This flight, which is the first direct flight from Kazakhstan after many years, was greeted with a traditional water salute ceremony.

First Plane Welcomed with Enthusiasm

Important contacts made at international fairs throughout the year, in cooperation with Alanya Municipality, Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), Alanya Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ALTSO), and Alanya Touristic Hoteliers Association (ALTİD), continue to yield concrete results. Recently, the first direct flight from Billund, Denmark, was realized. The occurrence of another first shortly after was met with great excitement in the tourism community.

The welcoming ceremony at the airport was attended by Gazipaşa District Governor Selami Korkutata, Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Ankara Yerkebulan Sapiyev, Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Antalya Kuat Kanafeyev, Gazipaşa Deputy Mayors Adem Kaya and Selçuk Özdemir, ALTSO President Eray Erdem, ALTAV and ALTİD representatives, and airport officials. Protocol members welcomed the guests with carnations. Additionally, Kazakh citizens, dressed in their local attire, welcomed their compatriots and offered them Kazakh delicacies. The aircraft pilots and crew were also welcomed with flowers by the protocol members.

Total of 56 Flights Expected

A total of 56 flights from Kazakhstan are planned to Gazipaşa-Alanya Airport throughout the summer season. These flights, which are important for opening the region’s tourism to the Central Asian market, will take place twice a week, on Wednesdays and Fridays.
